On February 27th, Spokane came alive with the magic of cinema and the passion for fly fishing as the 2025 International Fly Fishing Film Festival, IF4, took center stage at the Garland Theater. This year’s festival celebrated film, creativity, and community, attracting fly fishing enthusiasts and river supporters to see the line up of films from around the world.
Like Landing a Big Catch
The 2025 festival was one of our most successful yet, with over 292 attendees filling the theater to enjoy a diverse lineup of captivating fly fishing films. Together, we raised over $10,000, surpassing last year’s total by more than $1,000. This couldn't have been possible without the generous support and enthusiasm of our attendees, our Sponsor, Silver Bow Fly Shop and our volunteers. With an array of sweet raffle prizes valuing over $5000 some of our lucky guests left with new gear for their next outing like a RL Winston Air2 9' 5wt Fly Rod, a Riversmith 2 Banger Fly Rod Holder or a Galvan Torque Fly Reel. The grand finale raffle winner took home a guided trip for two on the Spokane River with Silver Bow.
Film Line Up
This year’s films did not disappoint with big fish, exotic locales and dangerous conditions and tales of fly fishing near and far. Films included Native Range, Fishing Diaries, Silent Spotter, Time Will Tell, Above the Clouds, New Beginnings and Legacy. Read more about the films here.
Community and Connectivity
One of the festival’s greatest strengths is its ability to connect people who share a deep affection and appreciation for fly fishing and our Spokane River watershed. It is always great see old friends reconnect and new friendships form throughout the event, much like the camaraderie found among fly fishers casting their lines together on a serene river.
Making a Difference
The funds raised during the festival will go towards several important Spokane Riverkeeper initiatives:
Support for ongoing river cleanup efforts, working towards a pristine environment for both the fishery and anglers alike
The enhancement of educational programs to raise awareness about healthy fisheries and the importance of sustainable and inclusive fly fishing practices
Research and data collection to monitor and improve water quality, creating a cleaner river and a better habitat for fish and everything that depends on clean, cool and abundant fresh water
We are so grateful for the unwavering support from our community. Together, we are making significant strides in promoting and protecting our beautiful river and watershed, which we all hold so dear.
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to the 2025 International Fly Fishing Film Festival in Spokane. Your passion and commitment are the driving forces behind a clean and healthy Spokane River.
