Our river cleanup program is up and running after a slow start due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, we’ve partnered with the Spokane River Forum to offer new and old ways of cleaning up the river. Check out future opportunities here. As of 8/25/20 we’ve cleaned up 7,100 pounds of trash with 248 volunteers over 28 events. Many of these events have been DIY events, where we provide supplies and disposal, but do not lead the cleanup. We’ve also led a number of public cleanups, with strict adherence to social distancing guidelines (masks are hot in 100 degree weather!). We’ve led a few private groups. Finally, our intern Oakley has been on the boat, helping with cleanups on the river. Enjoy the photo gallery below!
